Rocketry is the design and creation of rockets. They’re often built by aerospace engineers—but you don’t have to be an aerospace engineer to build one! Why do rocketry? You get to develop important skills like teamwork, problem solving, and leadership while working with other Girl Scouts to design, create, and launch rockets.
Continue exploring with our complete Rocketry toolkit, developed with experts from the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA). This toolkit provides guidance, encouragement, and resources for councils and troops to form rocketry teams to compete in The American Rocketry Challenge (the world’s largest rocket contest) or to pursue non-competitive rocketry experiences.
Does your team want to compete in The American Rocketry Challenge? Registration is open from May to December every year. Go to rocketcontest.org to register for the current year’s competition and find additional information and resources, including contest rules, deadlines, and frequently asked questions.
