Setup: Today we get to try cooking for outdoor camping trips. Now, imagine you and your friends are going cabin camping. We are going to try a recipe today that you may want to do again when you go camping, and this activity will complete one of the steps of your Cabin Camper badge. Sometime in the year ahead, you may get to go camping with your friends or family, so let’s get ready to cook!
Activity: First, you need to:
Recipe #1: Walking Salad (This salad is called a walking salad because it can be eaten while hiking.)
Ingredients:
Steps:
Recipe #2: Blushing Bunny

Steps:
Now, let’s gather up our cooking equipment (video tip: show them what you will be using, based on the recipe). You can tie back your hair if it’s long. Then, tie an apron or kitchen towel around your waist. Ready to cook?
Take your time with each step, be very careful with your cooking equipment, and have fun.
Reflection:
Before you eat your great food, I want you to answer a couple of questions. You can share your answers with the adult who is with you there.
Now it’s time to try what you made!
Troop Leaders: The instructions for all badge steps are available free of charge in the Girl Scout Volunteer Toolkit.
