The Arbor Day Foundation has partnered with the Girl Scouts as the tree planting partner for the Girl Scout Tree Promise, an initiative to plant 5 million trees across the United States in five years. Through this partnership, Girl Scouts can visit the Arbor Day Foundation’s website to purchase trees from their online nursery to plant in their own yards and communities, or they can have trees planted in a forest to honor loved ones.
Trees are the most scalable and cost-efficient nature-based solution to many of the biggest issues our planet faces today. They have a tremendous ability to help mitigate climate change through carbon capture, support biodiversity, as well as strengthen and beautify our neighborhoods and communities.
The Arbor Day Foundation is the world’s largest membership nonprofit organization dedicated to planting trees in communities and forests of greatest need. With more than five decades of experience, unmatched global scale, and deeply rooted relationships, the Foundation has helped plant nearly 500 million trees in more than 50 countries. Guided by its mission to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees, the Arbor Day Foundation is committed to unlocking the power of trees as nature-based solutions to help solve critical environmental issues.
The Arbor Day Foundation is determined to plant 500 million trees by 2027 with a focus on forests and neighborhoods where trees are needed most. Trees provide the greatest impact when planted with focus and at scale, and the Arbor Day Foundation is uniquely positioned to deliver both.
