Exploring the Arts & Culture of the PNW: June 18 – June 25, 2025

Explore the diverse culture and art of the Pacific NW in Seattle and surrounding areas. Connecting each area is a series of NW Trolls (https://www.nwtrolls.org/) we will be hunting for.

About the Trip

This trip will have you wowed by Chihuly glass art, grossed out by Seattle’s infamous Gum Wall, and rocking at the MoPop Museum. Each day of the trip will focus on a different aspect of art or culture.

We will explore the Japanese experience at the Wing Luke Museum and a walking tour of the International District, followed by a ferry ride to the Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial.

We will spend a whole day at the Seattle Center, where there will be several activities for you to choose your own adventure from: MoPop (Museum of Pop Culture), MOHAI, Space Needle, Chihuly, and glass blowing.

Let’s not forget our amazing theatre programing in Seattle! We will take in a Broadway Show at the 5th Avenue theatre, a tour of the Children's Theatre and possibly a stage makeup workshop.

We’ll check out Tacoma’s history at Fort Nisqually and Point Defiance Zoo and wrap up the day with a ferry ride to the quaint Vashon Island in our quest to find another Troll.

In Ballard, you’ll learn about the Scandinavian immigrant experience and their connection to the fishing/boating culture of Seattle.

We’ll also spend a little downtime relaxing at Girl Scout Camp River Ranch, hanging around the campfire or swimming at the new dock on the lake.
