On October 19, 2024, Girl Scouts of the USA’s National Council, made up of girl and adult members from across the country, elected by their peers, discussed and voted on two membership dues proposals.

Every three years, delegates from every council across the nation and USA Girl Scouts Overseas—our National Council—meet to discuss, debate, and vote on issues important to the Girl Scout Movement and elect national leaders for the next triennium.
Save the Date for the 2026 Girl Scout Convention
We’re excited to announce that the 2026 Girl Scout Convention will take place in Washington, DC, from Monday, July 20, through Saturday, July 25. Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital will be our host council. We are grateful for their hospitality and support in preparing for and carrying out this important event for our Movement.
In addition to our convention, 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of the USA. What better place to hold convention than the capital of our nation—a symbolic and literal representation of people who live in every corner of the United States? Similarly, National Council Session is where delegates representing every corner of the Girl Scout Movement come together to discuss, debate, and make Girl Scout history.

2023 Girl Scout Convention Recap
In July 2023, approximately 900 delegates, including several hundred girl members aged 14–17, represented their councils during the 56th National Council Session. They elected a new National Board, including new National President Noorain F. Khan, engaged in breakout discussions about governance, and respectfully debated and voted on important issues. After the conclusion of NCS, we welcomed thousands MORE Girl Scouts from across the country and around the world to take part in fun and enriching programs, make new friends, and attend special performances and celebrations at Phenom By Girl Scouts. It was Phenom-enal!
