Girl Scouts of the USA is a Dell Powering the Possible recipient in the United States.
Dell and Girl Scouts of the USA are collaborating to close the technology gap. The Journey and Connect Through Technology Program engages underserved girls from both rural and urban areas in leadership and technology skill-building experiences. This program seeks to enrich what girls learn in school and introduce them to potential future academic studies and careers in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
Participating councils include Girl Scouts of Central Texas, Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee, Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital, Girl Scouts of Northern California, and Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma. During the program, girls will be introduced to ICT concepts and gain skills that promote critical thinking and teamwork. They will be applying the Girl Scout journey series It's Your Story Tell It! to local council programs in robotics, filmmaking, internet safety, app design, and more. Dell employees will serve as role models to inspire girls to develop their leadership skills and to take action within their communities.
Dell Powering the Possible is designed to give others the power to do more through a combination of Dell donated technology and solutions, resources and know-how. In communities around the world, Dell is helping youth discover new possibilities by closing the gap for learning. Girl Scouts of the USA is proud to be a learning partner with Dell.
Dell Inc. (NASDAQ: DELL) listens to customers and delivers innovative technology and services that give them the power to do more. For more information, visit www.dell.com.
Dell built its reputation on listening to customers and developing solutions that make technology work harder for them. This same philosophy applies to our Powering the Possible program where we partner with organizations to identify their most pressing needs. Dell Powering the Possible applies the power of technology to four strategic areas of focus: discovering cures for pediatric cancer, bridging the digital divide in education, fueling social entrepreneurship, and bringing relief in the wake of a disaster.
