Manager, Website and Online Content Development (2-Year Term - Grant Funded Position) Summary of Position The Manager, Website and Online Content Development, is responsible for creating and implementing an online presence that delivers content to the Girl Scout community through cutting-edge Web 2.0 technology. She/he should have a deep interest and knowledge of how to connect with girls through social media, two-way communication, and interactive tools. The manager, in collaboration with the Director of Program Resources, develops a new creative vision and tactical implementation for a Web-based platform that offers interactive content and, ultimately, a way for girls to participate in online Girl Scouting. She/he will manage the ongoing creation of engaging online content for girls. Using video, games, polls, maps, quizzes, and other tools, the manager creates an environment in which for the user can personalize her/his experience. In addition, the Manager, Website and Online Content Development, researches and develops a network of highly qualified and experienced vendors and partners to supplement Girl Scouts of the USA’s internal resources on a project-specific basis. She/he collaborates with other departments to ensure the integration of the new technology platform and existing systems. Job Qualifications • Minimum 7 years’ experience working with technology development and design in an educational or publishing setting desired • Demonstrated experience using online technology to develop interactive sessions (e.g., Illuminate, WebEx, Captasia, Captivate, Lectora, Centra) • Solid understanding of technology and interactive media and the creative process • Experience in project management related to technology and knowledge of budget planning and preparation • Experience rewriting and/or editing print materials for the Web • Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills • Demonstrated experience working on and editing multiple projects with simultaneous and often conflicting deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Experience in the identification, evaluation, negotiation, and management of outside contractors and vendors • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite • Demonstrated expertise working in a highly collaborative environment as a project leader or team member • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, online technology, or related area; equivalent relevant experience; or Master’s degree in online communications or related field desirable How to Apply Please apply with cover letter and resume as one document.
