Web Developer Summary of Position The Web Developer designs, develops, and/or tests Web applications for Girl Scouts of the USA and Girl Scout councils. She/He performs maintenance and modification or enhancements for the organization’s existing systems and applications. The incumbent modifies systems design to take maximum advantage of existing data-processing equipment capabilities and capacity. She/He confers with other Interactive and GSUSA personnel to determine systems and/or equipment problems and types of data to be processed, and to analyze problems in terms of systems requirements. The Web Developer recommends application modifications or additions, when needed, to efficiently carry out top-level departmental and organization goals. The incumbent prepares test data, and tests and debugs programs. She/He maintains an awareness and understanding of GSUSA’s business operations to ensure that development projects address end-user requirements and organizational needs. To assure and maintain high-quality development and maintenance of applications, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all assigned projects adhere to the GSUSA System Development Methodology, Testing Methodology, and all Information & Technology policies, procedures, and guidelines. Job Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in Web application development, including analysis, design, programming, testing, documenting and maintaining applications. Proven experience in hand-coding HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and DHTML across a range of browsers. Strong knowledge of .NET, ASP and ActionScript. Demonstrated experience in a client/server environment with Microsoft Visual Basic 5.0 and SQL. Minimum 2 years’ database expertise with Microsoft Access and MS SQL Server, including stored procedures. Proven experience with multi-platform QA processes and content management systems. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong written/verbal communication and human relations skills. Proven ability to work on multiple projects as part of a team and meet deadlines. Demonstrated analytical ability sufficient to perform full range of Web development and programming responsibilities. High level of customer service skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent relevant experience. EOE/Committed to Diversity
