Girl Scout Daisies meet in groups of five to 10 with two or more adult leaders in a nurturing, inclusive environment. They go on trips, learn about nature and science, and explore the arts and their communities. Girl Scout Daisies can also earn Learning Petals and receive participation patches.

Sample Activities for Girl Scout Daisies

  • Arts and crafts projects like finger-painting murals and making colorful barrettes and paper-bag puppets
  • Trips to pick pumpkins and apples
  • Camping and hiking with their family
  • Planning a picnic and making snacks
  • Planting a community garden
  • Earning patches for activities like reading fun books or helping their community

Troop/Group Leaders

Every Girl Scout Daisy belongs to a troop or group guided by leaders—community volunteers who are parents or other adults trained by the local Girl Scout council. Leaders work with girls to determine interests and decide on activities within the framework of the Girl Scout program. Parents are asked to support the leader by helping where needed, such as with transportation, group snacks, or family outings.

Uniforms and Books

Girls can wear a Girl Scout Daisy Membership Pin as a sign of their belonging to the Girl Scout Movement. They can also wear the Girl Scout Daisy tunic over their clothes or purchase a variety of official Girl Scout Daisy uniform components. The girls place Learning Petals and participation patches on their tunics or in a scrapbook. Girls can buy the Girl Scout Daisy Activity Book for fun projects and ideas. Leaders use the Guide for Girl Scout Daisy Leaders.
