Safety Award
Every girl can be an important link and make a difference when it comes to safety. Working with a leader, Brownie Girl Scouts can make sure they are safe by becoming partners in safety. Girls learn about safety as they work toward the Safety Award for Brownie Girl Scouts. After completing the activities, they can wear the award on their uniform vest or sash. This award, which also appears in Safety-Wise, has been adapted for the Web. The links after each activity go to pages helpful for completing it. Girls should visit Internet sites with an adult, then discuss what they've learned and how the sites relate to the activity. Complete six activities showing how to be safe when: 1. At home (for example, in the kitchen, while playing, when around pets)
2. At the playground
3. Playing a sport or riding a bike
4. Taking a trip with your group
5. Traveling in a vehicle
6. Using a computer online
7. Approached by a stranger
8. Someone tries to hurt you with words or actions
9. Encountering a strange dog or a wild animal
