The Girl Scout Leadership Experience engages girls in discovering self, connecting with others, and taking action to make the world a better place. Discover, Connect, and Take Action are the three keys to Leadership.
Discover: Girls understand themselves and their values and use their knowledge and skills to explore the world.
Connect: Girls care about, inspire, and team with others locally and globally.
Take Action: Girls act to make the world a better place.
In Girl Scouting, Discover + Connect + Take Action=Leadership. All Girl Scout experiences are intentionally designed to tie to one or more of the 15 national leadership outcomes, or benefits, categorized under the three keys to leadership.
Please Note: These three keys to leadership replace Girl Scouting's "four program goals" and the 4Bs from STUDIO 2B.

It is so exciting to be implementing the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience and the journey approach. As you create plans to engage girls and volunteers in the journeys, you may find it useful to communicate these three messages:
- Journeys provide an important foundation for each level in Girl Scouting for girls and volunteers.
- The journeys have been created to provide meaningful experiences centered on the three keys to leadership for all girls.
- Awards girls earn mark their achievements. So let's encourage everyone to take their time with the "learning and earning!"
We are grateful to the Girl Scout community for valuable input over the past several years on everything from favorite activities to Girl Scout history.
We thank you for your partnership and hope you share our excitement as we focus the energy of the Girl Scout community on the new opportunities journeys provide. Let's bring our leadership experience to life and support girls in being leaders who change the world. |

| uniquely ME!
The Girl Scout/Dove Self-Esteem Program was established to foster positive self-esteem in girls. A recent study by the Girl Scout Research Institute, The New Normal? What Girls Say about Healthy Living, found that girls define their health in holistic terms, and consider emotional and physical well-being equally important. Help us make girls healthier, by helping them feel better about themselves. Donate to the Dove Self-Esteem Fund. Your contribution will enable Girl Scouts nationwide to experience uniquely ME! through Girl Scouting.
