Have the adventure of a lifetime while conducting projects at La Selva Biological Station, an internationally renowned research center.

Delve into an ecological paradise and walk amid lush rainforests and beneath towering volcanoes in enchanting Cost Rica. Explore the tropical rainforest while volunteering at La Selva Biological Station, an internationally renowned research center. Take a walk on the wild side as you visit hot springs, kayak the river and tour high up in the rainforest canopy seeing the world’s most magnificent plant and animal habitats.

During your 8 day adventure you will travel with 39 of your newest friends to help La Selva Biological Station and breath in the fresh air as you explore the great outdoors in Costa Rica – hiking, kayaking, and exploring the natural world.

From Los Angeles we will fly to San Jose, Costa Rica where we start the adventure by volunteering. From there become a world adventurer by exploring the following in the Arnal Region: Forest corridor by boat, by car, by foot; Rain Forest Canopy; Hot springs; River exploration by kayak; La Fortuna waterfall; Paos Volcano National Park

Plan It

  • July 15–23, 2013; $2,700
    Must be 14–17 years old at the time of the event.

Get It

  • Valid current passport and visa are required
  • A packing list will be provided upon acceptance

$300 deposit will be due immediately upon acceptance to this course (part of the event fee, not in addition to it).

Price includes all transportation, breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, tour guides, entrance fees to activity sites, sleeping accommodations, tips, and pre-trip online interaction if desired and able. Price of trip may fluctuate slightly based on airport surcharge charges. Once accepted applicants can lock price. You are responsible for round-trip airfare to Los Angeles as well as any extra spending money.
