An introduction to Vaulting

If you love horses, gymnastics and dance, this is the destination for you! Come discover the sport of vaulting as you learn tricks on horseback! New to vaulting? Check out the videos at www.americanvaulting.org!

Picture It

24 Girl Scouts from across the country will be selected to participate in an unforgettable two-week experience. Stay in air-conditioned cabins at Camp Meriwether as you learn tricks such as a handstand dismount from a moving horse. Build confidence, increase your understanding and feel of horse movement, and examine the rider body position effects on the horse. In the evenings, refine your English and/or Western riding skills in a group lesson.

When you’re not at the barn, enjoy swimming, canoeing, archery, and climbing the challenge tower/zip line. Enjoy seeing the local scenery? Not to worry – we will also have a field trip to Callaway Gardens to check out the local farmer’s market, go swimming at the beach, and see the University of Florida Acrobats! Top off your adventure by participating in a vaulting demonstration for local Girl Scouts and their families.
