Year of the Girl

Resources for Volunteering

You are not alone! Girl Scouts offers you support in many ways: your local Girl Scout council offers training on many topics, runs council-wide activities such as camping, plans events that all girls in the Girl Scout council can attend, and offers a Web site and locally-produced program materials. Your local neighborhood Girl Scout group can also assist you with training, getting other adults to help support activities, and plan neighborhood events and opportunities.

From Girl Scouts of the USA, you are supported by this Web site and a wide range of program materials and activities. Most of the GSUSA-produced resources are available through your local Girl Scout council, some council shops, or online at the Girl Scout Shop. Or call Girl Scout Merchandise Customer Service at (800) 221-6707.

If you have questions about these resources and how they can assist you in creating a wonderful program experience for girls 5-17, ask your local Girl Scout council staff, parents, sponsors, and other leaders and advisors. Also be sure to check out our resources available in Spanish.

Program Resources on Specific Topics

The following is not a complete list of all of the program resources available for girls. Please check with your local Girl Scout council for the most current information, book descriptions, and the ages for which each resource is written. Many of these books also offer a guide for adults with tips for program implementation and additional activities.
