Board Chairs: Leading High Performing Boards
Whether you are a newly elected board chair, an incoming board chair or a board chair who has served for several years, this course is for you!

The course is much deeper than an introductory workshop to chairing a nonprofit board.  It is an education on the relationship and resources GSUSA can offer each council board. It is an update on the newest IRS Form 990 regulations your board must follow to be in compliance. It is a sharing of current trends in nonprofit governance and a look at ways to lead your board to exceptional performance. Tools for maintaining a strong partnership with your chief executive officer and board members will be provided. By working with a network of peers from across the country, you will also capture new ideas to try with your own board and develop relationships with other chairs you can call on during your tenure. Not only will it help to strengthen your board leadership skills, it will provide tools and resources for excelling in any organization.

Here's what a recent participant had to say:

"The entire 3 day experience was a wonderful learning and growing experience. I have told everyone I met that I'm so excited about all of the wonderful things that I learned at the workshops! Great chemistry and energy from the group and our experts/consultants/teachers were awesome! Really a treat - intellectually, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and I could go on and on!"
