LEADER Magazine Fall/Winter 2007 Highlights
The fall/winter 2007 LEADER (PDF, 7MB) is a special edition, 16-page mini-magazine that features the transformational developments unfolding in Girl Scouting and to announce the innovative, redesigned, and more vibrant LEADER magazine coming in summer 2008. Learn about "leadership journeys," a primary program feature for girls in the New Girl Scout Leadership Experience; the series of themed activities focused on building specific leadership skills that will replace single-interest badges; and the flexible approaches, or "pathways," to volunteering adults in Girl Scouting will be able to choose from to accommodate their busy lifestyles. Read what Patricia Diaz Dennis, Chair of the National Board of Directors, and two young adults—Vanessa and Angela Simmons, stars of MTV's hit show Run's House—have to say about the importance of being a Girl Scout volunteer, as well as bilingual testimony from Marisol Cruz, a volunteer from Florida, on the positive effects of involvement in the lives of girls. With World Thinking Day, February 22, right around the corner, the four-page spread on environmentally sensitive activities, grouped by grade level, will serve as a stimulating resource. In addition, relevant news items from troops and councils appear in the Bulletin Board section. It's the perfect tool for explaining the revitalization of the Girl Scout Movement to our volunteers and our entire adult readership. Let us know what you think of our online format. E-mail us at leadermagazine@girlscouts.org. All GSUSA registered adult members automatically receive LEADER magazine. |
