Alumnae Story
After 47 Years, a Lifetime Membership

It seems as though I have always been a Girl Scout. In 1952 I joined a Brownie troop in the Wincroft Division of Rochester, New York, and participated with girls that I still am in contact with. When I was a college student in the 1960s, I assisted with a Brownie troop, and have only missed a few years of registering with a troop.

At the present time I have just completed my 47th year in Scouts, and am Service Unit Manager, though I filled the same position for nine years in the '80s and early '90s. Throughout the years, I have been Registrar, Day Camp Director, Publicity Person, Cookie Chairman, and a million other things, all of which I have loved.

Working with the girls has been a blessing, and though I was involved during my daughters' years in Scouting, I am now an Assistant Leader with my granddaughter's troop. My mother was a Scout, I am still a Scout, both daughters were Scouts, and one granddaughter is now a Cadette. I finally broke down and purchased a Lifetime Membership, and will be involved indefinitely.

Scouting is in my blood, and has been a large part of my life.
